I’m no Theologian. I’m no pastor. But I love God and know who He is. I’m a very Non-Traditional Believer as well. And I”M STRUGGLING!!!
There’s something I want. (As we all do) And I’m praying about/for it. But every time I pray, a monkey wrench gets thrown in the situation.
And I pray and I Pray And I PRAY!
So I Ask MySelf….
WHY PRAY IF IT’S NOT GOING TO HAPPEN?
Why am I praying to God if He’s just gonna turn a deaf ear and do what He Wants Any Way?!
I’m sorry folks…but for the “Not-So-Saved…” THAT’s a REAL Question!
And I’m brought to this scripture.
LUKE 18:1-8 “The Parable of the Persistent Widow”
1) Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up. 2) He said: “In a certain town there was a judge who neither feared God nor cared what people thought. 3) And there was a widow in that town who kept coming to him with the plea, ‘Grant me justice against my adversary.’
4) “For some time he refused. But finally he said to himself, ‘Even though I don’t fear God or care what people think, 5) yet because this widow keeps bothering me, I will see that she gets justice, so that she won’t eventually come and attack me!’ ”
6) And the Lord said, “Listen to what the unjust judge says. 7) And will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off? 8) I tell you, he will see that they get justice, and quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?”
SO yup… the Bible had an answer for me. KEEP PRAYING! You may not have everything right. You may be looking for signs for if you SHOULDN’T be praying about it. You may even think… since it’s not going right… should I bail on what I want. May even debate… should I STOP praying so it can work… and the answer is simple….
Philippians 4:6 says, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.”
Maybe even CHANGE THE QUESTION: WHY PRAY IF IT’S NOT GOING TO HAPPEN……….YET!
There’s Your Answer!
(Minus extra spiritual reasons and other possibilities. I’m just talking Basics!)
